Horticulture with merit certificate award and Ph. D. Horticulture from CCS University, Campus Meerut. He has qualified ASRB-NET in Horticulture in 2008. He has more than 19 years teaching and research experience at UG, PG and doctoral level. Dr. Chauhan has published more than 40 research papers, authored 05 books, and review articles, book chapters in reputed national and international journals. He has guided postgraduate students and Ph. D. student in academic and research activities and has been associated with various educational and extension programmes for the benefit of farmers and rural communities and delivered radio talks on All India radio AIR Delhi and NIOS Regional Centre, Delhi/NCR
